FI drag launch RPM's?

Ok, i've been racing NA for a while now and a thought just crossed my mind, that back in the day when i FIRST started with my car, it took me quite a few runs down the 1320 to get the launch RPMS and clutch release just right so i get a good launch..
Now that I'm FI, its a whole different ballgame and i'll have to learn all over again.. SO you guys with FI, what RPM'S are you launching at and clutch speed, (with slicks and without specs would be cool)

Well if your power comes on too hard with that nice hybrid TO4E you got you will not get to use full throttle in 1st gear at the track. On street tires I launched at 2600-2700 RPMs at 18 psi in the tires. Best run of 13.80 @ 6 psi of boost on a JRSC. With slicks and a good clutch you can take the launch up to around 4500-5000 RPM on a JRSC car. Higher if you have a really good clutch, and wide tall tires to help gear multiplication so that you don't just blow them off. Best run with slicks on a hurt motor @ 8 psi was 13.24.

Ya, it sucks.. i can't keep it floored through first and second gear..
I can WOT up to 5500 in first then the wheels break loose.. it sucks cause i have to let off the throttle AFTER instead of initially, its kinda hard to do.. plus not mashing it to the floor in 2nd takes some getting used to as well..

Well that is on a SC motor we have full torque around 2800-3000 RPM's. On a turbo motor you don't start to spool til say 4200-4300 correct? So the launch has to be a little higher than mine otherwise you will bog off the line because of such a low launch. Then you will have to pedal it so that it doesn't break loose the instant it starts to spool up. If you get slicks you will be able to floor it

Ya i figured that much... hmm I have slicks, i used to launch at 7000 and slip it out, but i guess now i'll have to play with it again..

I guess i'm mostly concered for street tires launch.. just wondering how you guys avoid tire spin.. hmm

Hehe... Oh it's a blast G3-TEG. I got my best time on street tires from launching at idle--maybe 1500RPM or so. I get some boost below 2K RPM and hit full boost at 2800. 1st gear is such a joke it's almost useless. I press on the gas just enough to not let the wheels spin.. then shift to 2nd and floor it.. then spin again at 6-8K RPM. I have to be careful shifting into 3rd as well.. cuz they will keep on spinning on a cold day.

In other words... The only way to avoid tirespin is careful modulation of the gas pedal. Even drag radials don't help much. I tried launching at 2500RPM on 205/55R14 drag radials and spun almost as bad as street tires to an amazing 13.9 at 108.8MPH. I did beat a Mustang Cobra on that pass.

What size turbo you running? I'm assuming its a T3 or similar size at you hit full boost at 2800? ack i don't hit full boost till 5800 hahaha... but that let me go WOT from about 0-20mph...then i start to spin, sucks..

how much boost you running?

Ya i had ZERO tire spin launching at 7500RPM with MT slicks... that was NA though.. wonder what will happen FI now..
